Elevating roofs are flat roofs which can be raised up at an angle at the front or rear. When they are closed, they only add a few centimetres to the height of the vehicle. This means that the overall height of the vehicle remains below two metres – an important consideration for multi-level car parks and garages. When they are open they provide seating headroom over the roof bed, which is also included in the package. If the roof bed is not in use, it can be folded up very easily.
We are currently able to fit elevating roofs (pop tops) to the Volkswagen T4/T5 (Volkswagen Transporters), Vauxhall Vivaro and Renault Trafic. Fitting an elevating roof to your van gives a number of advantages; firstly it allows you to stand up in your van which is great when cooking, getting changed etc. Also, it allows fitment of a roof bed, effectively turning the standard 2 berth side conversion into a 4 berth camper.
All our roof conversions include a zip down canvas panel which gives good ventilation.
We can also include roof bed and roof mattress as part of the conversion.
